Edgar’s at the Quail Lodge has the best view of the golf course outside of standing on the driving range. A full bar and comfortable seating make it a great place to eat an early lunch or dinner or just have drinks and a burger, which BTW is one of the best in Carmel Valley. Their menu offers salads to innovative entrees that range from fish and seafood to poultry, pastas and steaks. Restaurant 1833 has seen over 100 years of rich tradition of dining and originally as a home of a society woman who they say still haunts the room upstairs. Ghosts or not, the newly renovated 1833 has the look and feel of a iconic dining establishment with it’s history dating back to 1833 and the former home of Mayor Stokes of Monterey – now the newest of dining experiences from the team of Rob Weakley and David Bernahl of Pebble Beach Food and Wine fame. This is the place to grab a really great beer and I mean A REALLY GREAT BEER and a great big bite to eat! Located just above the Cannery Row main drag in a historical brick building, Cannery Row Brewing Company has found it’s home. Newly opened by the guys who head the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Rob Weakley and Dave Bernahl; this is the place for the Gourmet Beer Geek!! Plus, this place is packed with everything a sports fan would want in a local bar, but with every beer you could imagine and the menu to go along with it! Their burgers are awesome and the specialty sandwiches rock as well with Chef Mark Ayers (previously at Pacific’s Edge) aboard. Their happy hours are popular and this is a great place to have dinner and watch you fav sporting events. Fine dining in a great bar environment! The Muck Duck has seen a long history of dining with Monterey residents and visitors. Since their new ownership last year, Anthony Buich and his partner Alex have made this great tradition even better with their fresh menu of fine dining. They are offering a $35 menu this year that showcases their very best dishes and have the chef to back it up.  On a recent night at the Duck, we experienced a great steak and seafood dish and their pulled port sandwich was out of this world. Their full menu has a diverse selection including “Fried pickles” something that I have never even heard of before! Be sure and ask for their amazing selection of beers and wines for pairings with this extreme menu of choices.  They are the happening place on any day of the week in Monterey and they love the sports with a new courtyard seating that is a great new spot to enjoy their many events with music, games and fun times.

Monterey Cookhouse The Monterey Cookhouse is part of a new movement towards housemade, fresh and natural cuisine, slow cooked from scratch. Our “California Cuisine” ranges from casual to fine dining. You may feast on a hearty plate of Buttermilk Marinated Fried Chicken, or a gourmet Rib Eye, wood-fired and topped with a Red Wine Reduction served on a bed of Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes with Sautéed Green Beans. Being a Cookhouse, we also have a large emphasis on wood-fired cuisine. We use a Traeger Smoker, where depending on the cut, some of our meats are smoked for 10-12 hours making them melt in your mouth. We feature Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, and on the weekend…our very popular Smoked Prime Rib Dinner. We use an oak-fired grill for our yummy ½ lb Hamburgers, delicious Steaks, and for the delectable Grilled Fish choices on our menu.

Featuring the talents of Dory Ford and his Aqua Terra staff, the restaurant focuses on fresh, organic and sustainable cuisine with a simple flavor and styling. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and although they cater to the golf club visitors, they are the best kept secret on the peninsula for a great dinner. The Grill caters and take out, as well as, events or private parties for those who love to watch the sunset or the deer feeding along the greenbelt of Asilomar, or the nearby beaches of Pacific Grove and the Victorian village of the Monterey Bay. Fireplace dining with a good selection of wine and beer is also available at the Grill.
